Rehearsals this week
Monday- 2/17
Costumes Students need to bring their costume pieces and garment bag by this Thursday. Please be sure ALL items including the garment bag are labeled with your student's name. As I'm sure you can imagine, during the craziness of getting in costumes, sometimes things get misplaced and not put away. It's hard to know whose it is without a name on it. What does my student need to bring for costumes? Tickets Students will receive information regarding tickets this week. We've had technical difficulties with the online ticketing system and hope to have that resolved soon. Many thanks to our Ticket Committee for working through all the technical issues! Longer Rehearsals Please ensure your student has a snack and a water bottle as rehearsals are getting longer. This will help them keep up their energy during rehearsals. Rehearsals this week
Monday- 2/10
Hair and Makeup Ms. Dallimore has put together a very detailed hair and makeup document with pictures and video tutorials. There are specific makeup and hair requirements for different roles and groups. If you'd like to help out with makeup or hair, please sign up on the SignUpGenius to help out. Costumes All students have received their costume from our amazing costume committee. Please be sure to read what costume items you will need to provide. These are things like shoes, garment bag, socks/nylons, spanx and tank top. These items are needed for rehearsal on February 20th for the dress rehearsal stumble through. We want to make sure all costumes are complete before we take pictures the next day. Rehearsals this week

February Calendar There are a few dances that need to be worked on and finished so we are currently working on adjusting the rehearsal schedule to make that happen. We should have that all figured out by Friday. Costume Email There will be a costume email sent out this week with all the details for your student's costume. Please be looking for that. Most of the costume is being provided by the school. Parent Work Night This Thursday from 5-8pm is a parent work night to finish the set. Come on over to put the finishing touches on the set. Only 4 more weeks till the performances! A HUGE thank you to all those who came on Saturday to help build, paint, clean, and organize for the musical! We are incredibly lucky to have such a supportive community. We will continue to build, paint, and decorate on Thursdays at 5pm. You're welcome to come help out.
Rehearsals this week Optional Musical Numbers- ensemble members can decide to be part of a musical number or not. It's totally up to you. If you decide to be in an optional musical number, please be there for all the rehearsals. Monday- January 27
Costumes Our amazing Costume Committee will start meeting with students this week about their costume. We have assigned specific days for groups to make the process go quickly. Please bring any costume pieces you have (shoes, suits, jackets or dresses) to the costume time. Please note, all cast members need to provide their own shoes (not tap shoes) for the musical. Most costume pieces will be provided by the school.

Costume Measurements Form Every cast member needs to complete this Costume Measurements Form by January 21st so we can start getting costumes together. You will need either a measuring tape or a piece of string to get your student's measurements. Costumes Parents, we will be giving you more detailed information about costumes after we have met this week, but to get us started we are looking for some costumes so please look at Costumes Needed for The Drowsy Chaperone, especially if you child is a reporter so you can see pictures of what we need. Musical Committees Emails are going out about committees so if you signed up to be on a committee, please check your email. We are meeting this week to discuss costumes, set, Stargrams, and gifts. There are still some openings so please be sure to sign up, if you have yet to select a committee. Musical T-Shirts Mrs. Whiting is over T-shirts and could use some help. If any of you could sign up on our SignUpGenius that would be great so we can get these shirts done and out to the cast ASAP. Thank you! Rehearsals this week
Rehearsals are now going to be an hour and a half. Wednesday- January 8
January Calendar We were so completely swamped with the end of the term and all the December school events/activities that we were unable to get the paper copy of the January calendar out to students as promised. We do apologize for the delay. That will happen this week. Thanks for your patience. Rehearsals this week
Monday- December 16
Winter Assembly The Winter Assembly is Friday, December 20th from 11-12:30pm. We don't have a specific costume for this optional performance mainly because so many of our performers are already performing with other groups for the assembly. Students are welcome to wear what they wore to school that day. It's Ugly Sweater day so they're welcome to wear those. January Rehearsals From October to December our admin instructed us to keep rehearsals minimal. We've done our best to do that. If your student has expressed that they feel like they aren't doing much in the musical, this is why. Starting in January, we really get going with rehearsals. January rehearsals will go till 4:30pm. If your student is participating in the Granite Junior Youth Symphony, please talk to/email Ms. Emily so she can make that note. January rehearsal calendars will be out in the hall later this week. Off Book Day January 21st is Off Book Day- meaning students are no longer allowed to bring scripts onstage. Please be sure to work on memorization over the break. Have a fantastic Winter Break! December Calendar A paper copy of the December rehearsal calendar has been placed in the hallway across from the theatre room. Please be sure to pick one up. Winter Assembly Fancy Dress Performance All cast members are invited to participate in this optional performance opportunity. We'll be performing Fancy Dress at the Winter Assembly on December 20th. We have placed 4 rehearsals on the calendar since this is a 5 minute song (we may or may not need all of them- we'll keep you updated). Please be sure to practice and memorize the song at home. Again this is completely optional for all cast members. |
