Thank you to all the parents and students who came to help build and paint today! We appreciate all of you and we got so many things accomplished. We open exactly 2 months from today and we are so grateful for all of our volunteers! We work every Thursday night on set and props from 5-8pm. If you have an hour or two on Thursdays, we could sure use your help. We won't be working this Thursday due to Fall Break.
Parents need to go to the website every Saturday night for weekly information regarding the musical so we aren't filling up your email. Please check this week's Rehearsal Schedule. Rehearsal will only be this Mon, Tues and Wed since Fall Break for students is Oct. 13-17th. Matilda Jr Musical Parent Information
Parents, we appreciate those of you who came to the parent meetings this week to get information on how the musical operates. One of the things we discussed was the necessity of parent volunteers. We ask at least 1 parent volunteer for a minimum of 5 hours to help make this show a success because we can’t do these shows every year without our amazing parent volunteers. A weekly email is sent out on Sunday nights to help keep you in the know about current musical information. This Tuesday Sept. 13th from 3-7pm we need parents, siblings, and any able bodies, to help us clean out set and props pieces in the sea crates, located in the back parking lot, to make room for emergency items for the school and community. We thank you in advance for helping us with this effort and signing up for other positions to assist us in keeping the tradition of great musicals at Wasatch. Please practice at home. If you sing your part at least once every day, you won't have to think about it when it comes time to perform. All the music including playing the notes for Group 2 is on the Music page. Be sure to practice the choreography as well.
Those who received a callback were given a packet with all the sides and songs they would need at callbacks. Callbacks are on Monday after school. Please bring water and a snack. We will try to send you home as early as we can, but sometimes callbacks can go pretty long. We do not have an end time.
Cast list will be posted after school on Tuesday. We added a couple of songs for callbacks. The music is below. For all other music, please go to the audition page and click on the character. All the music is still there. Naughty- Matilda Revolting Children-Bruce We are pleased to announce that next year's musical is Matilda Jr. with performances December 8th, 9th, and 10th!
Auditions will be August 23rd and 24th and mandatory dance auditions will be August 26th. We will have a signup sheet closer to the date where you will sign up for a time slot. Everybody auditioning including those auditioning for non-singing roles will sing and dance at auditions. We have prepared audition materials for you to work on over the summer. Please choose a character that is your first choice and prepare the audition materials for that character. It is important that you memorize your material as best as you can. View the Matilda Character Breakdown for descriptions of each character. Actors will be required to speak in an accent. The default accent is Estuary English or London accent.
