Our Assistant Principal said the school would be open this Saturday for another event and we could come work on our set, which we are so grateful for as there are still quite a few things that need to be completed. We will be working from 8am-1pm and clean up, and out by 2pm. We especially need people with painting skills. We have an amazing Big Ben 2 of our wonderful Dad's made and it needs to be painted. They have a pattern and will be here to guide you in what needs to be done. You can sign up at the link below or just show up- thankyou! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0844a8ac2fabf58-wasatch We also need some sewing done: Wendy's bedding is a bit too long for the bed and we would like 15 small pouches made to add to the Lost Boys costumes. Mrs. Jardine will be getting a pattern and this can be done at home so, if you can make some, please respond to this email. We will provide the material, you would just need to provide the thread and your sewing skills. Parent Volunteer SignupGenius There are several spots on our Sign Up Genius where we still need parent volunteers especially in the Boy's Dressing Room, Striking the set, Ushering, and Concessions. We can't do this show without you and really need your help. Thank you so much and you can sign up at the link below. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0844a8ac2fabf58-wasatch We truly APPRECIATE you!!! Wasatch Musical Team It's time to order musical sweatshirts! The cost is $15 each. The hoodless sweatshirts are pre-shrunk 50/50 cotton/polyester unisex sizes. * Update 2//10/22:
Neverland Cast does Elementary, Friday and Saturday Matinee London Cast does Assembly, Thursday and Saturday night. Hello Parents,
We have several things we want to make you aware of and so I have categorized each section to make it easier to read and refer back to. Before I get to all the items, I and the team would just like to give you a BIG THANK YOU for being understanding and flexible because we had to push the musical back a couple of weeks due to not being able to have rehearsals this past week and so many students missing recently due to illness and quarantining. We know it takes a lot of juggling to reschedule and it was not without much concern, discussion and consideration that we felt strongly we needed the extra time to put on a quality production especially since our 6th graders, who are now 8th graders, lost their show due to the COVID lockdown 2 years ago which was very devastating for many of them. Now, onto all the topics… Check online schedule every Sunday: Please check the online schedule every Sunday for any changes or updates as we navigate through these “unprecedented times”. https://wjhtheatre.weebly.com/rehearsal-schedule.html If you click on a specific day you will see how long the rehearsal is, who needs to be there and what we are doing that day- dance, choreography, pictures, costume check, etc. On the homepage you will find information about costumes, choreography videos, music, etc: https://wjhtheatre.weebly.com/ All students with lines should be “off book” (memorized): If your student is not off book, please make sure they are working on that this week. There is a SNAD (student non-attendance day) this Friday and would be a great day to work on their lines and/or choreography. Students can see what days we are blocking (actor’s movement on stage) and what days they are learning the choreography by looking at the online schedule. Choreography Videos: If your child has missed rehearsal due to illness or quarantining, please have them watch the choreography videos- link below. All students who can be at rehearsal should be at rehearsal. Videos will “help” students learn the steps to a degree, but nothing can take the place of actually being at rehearsal. It is critical that students are there to get one-on-one coaching from the choreographers and know their placement on the stage. Videos will be added to the website as dances are taught. Aganin, you can check the rehearsal schedule to know what choreography is happening when. Choreography Videos Tuesday Work Nights: We are working on a super cool set and we need all hands on deck so, if you have any time on Tuesday nights from 5-7:30pm we could sure use your help. We need people to bring drills, hammers, screwdrivers, saws and extension cords as we have a limited supply. Park in the faculty parking lot at the back of the school and come in the door next to the big garage door, not the door near the gym. We need builders, painters, artists and anybody that wants to help so, whether you signed up on Sign-Up Genius or not for set construction and painting, we would love to have you! Also, please don’t feel like you have to be an expert to help. We have so much fun and many friendships have been made during these work nights over the years. We kindly ask you not to bring small children as we don’t want them getting hurt as we are building- thank you. Costume Check-in Day February 15th: Your student needs to bring their costume to school Feb. 15th and wear it to rehearsal after school so we can see how everything looks on stage. It would be very beneficial if your student knows their locker combination and how to get into their locker to store their costumes and other valuable items, like cell phones, during dress rehearsal/performances. If you missed the email about the costumes parents need to acquire, have no fear because we have everything on the website you can refer to. Go to the musical homepage and go to the musical tab and a drop-down menu will appear and click on costumes for either Pirates and Lost Boys or Brave Girls, depending on what role your student is playing. Leads and Supporting Info: If your student is playing two roles they need to have all their costume pieces for both characters that day if they have been purchased by you. Anything the school has purchased we will have ready. If you have questions about costumes please contact Brooke Matheson our Costume Chair <[email protected]>. Items Needed: We are in need of some items for set decoration and props. So, if there are items in your home you’ve been wanting to get rid of, but wanted them to go to a great place we would love to have your donations. Please be aware that if you are letting us “borrow” something it may not come back in the pristine condition you donated it to us and if you are okay with that, we would love to borrow any items you have for us and we thank you! Please make sure you label it with your student’s name so we can get it back to you or pick it up on closing night after the show. Items needed:
Donations can be brought to the school after practice on any day, Tuesday work nights from 5-7:30pm or Parent Work Day Saturday February 5th from 8am-2pm. Parent Work Day Sat. February 5th from 8am-2pm: Reminder that our Parent Work Day is fast approaching and we are so grateful for the many parents who have signed up to help us that day. If you have an hour or can come the whole time, we can use your help. You don’t have to sign up to come, just show up. Please bring tools (drills, hammers, screwdrivers, saws, etc.) if you have them- thank you. We will be doing: set construction and decorating, painting, lobby decor and anything else to complete the set and props we can think of. Please Email this address for any absences: Reminder to email this address: [email protected] if your student is sick, quarantined or can’t make it to rehearsal due to some other conflict. Students telling us that they will miss rehearsal is not acceptable and why we ask parents to email us here and we greatly appreciate your help with this. Just so you are aware, the musical team gets many emails per day and we don’t want your email to be missed and why we respectfully ask you to email us at the musical email address above unless you have a specific question for one of our team members. Students may only miss 5 rehearsals during musical season unless they are quarantined due to illness or exposure. We take roll at rehearsal so, if you get an email that your student is approaching 5 missed rehearsals you will know why. Thank you all again for all the help, support and donations we receive and we are so grateful! Have a wonderful week and stay safe :) Sincerely, Ms. Dallimore and The Wasatch Musical Team We've started posting choreography videos on the website. Please use these videos to prepare for future dance rehearsals and to review choreography.
To view the videos, go to the theatre website. In the menu under Musical is Choreography Videos. Hello Parents,
Due to the rise in COVID cases and subsequent student absences, we are moving the musical to the following dates: Elementary Performance: Tuesday, March 22nd @ 9:30am (Tentative) School Assembly: Tuesday, March 22nd @1:30 pm (Tentative) Thursday, March 24th @ 7pm Friday, March 25th @ 7pm Saturday, March 26th @ 2pm and 7pm This means that rehearsals will extend until these dates. Please check the website for an update of the rehearsal schedule later today. As you may know, the two weeks leading up to a show are extremely vital. It is very important that all students are at these rehearsals. This coming week (January 18th - January 21st) ALL in person rehearsals are canceled. We will be posting choreography videos for some of the dances on the Wasatch Theatre Website. Please check this daily and view your dances to learn and review the choreography provided. You will be expected to know the choreography when we return to in person rehearsals on Monday, January 24th. Sincerely, The Wasatch Musical Team We've made adjustments to the costumes for Brave Girls due to supply problems.
1. We will use leggings instead of tights. Please create your outfit based on your flower's color scheme. The leotard and leggings don't need to match. For example, if your flower is a daisy, you could have a yellow leotard and white leggings or vice versa. 2. No Jazz shoes needed- because we are no longer using tights, we no longer need students to wear jazz shoes. They will dance bare-foot. Please have your student bring slip on shoes or flip flops to wear backstage. Please refer to the Brave Girl Costume page to view all info and flower assignments. We apologize for any inconvenience in this costume change. Please contact Brooke Matheson if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks, The Wasatch Musical Team Due to the Omicron surge, we are setting up Zoom links for students who are sick/isolating/quarantining at home so that they can attend rehearsal. Please sign on to learn what is covered at rehearsal that day. Students are responsible for learning the choreography and blocking that is covered while absent. Recordings of rehearsals will be provided on our website to review if students are too ill or unable to access a computer or phone.
There are various teachers helping with rehearsals, therefore more than one Zoom link will be used. The Zoom link for each rehearsal will be on the rehearsal calendar. Just click on the rehearsal, and more details will come up including the Zoom link. Remember the link is different based on who is running the rehearsal that day so always just go to the calendar for the link. |
