Wne need to add a second rehearsal this Thursday Feb. 1 from 3-4pm for the number, "Flying" which includes the following cast members: Rainbow Drops, Featured, Charlie and Grandpa Joe. Charlie and Grandpa Joe will stay until 5pm to rehearse the "Burping" song.

We have another exciting Parent Work Day this Saturday from 9-3pm. We had a great turn out a couple of weeks ago and we are excited to get projects completed so our cast can work with the set. We need to work on the chocolate river, decorate the kitchen set, paint the grass and flowers on our green bridge and a few other projects so, if you are an artist or have an artistic flair we could really use your help with this project. We are meeting tomorrow night as a set construction team at 5pm and will finalize details and send out another email later this week with more information.

Costumes are an integral part of the show and help the students to feel special and complete a cohesive show and we appreciate you, as parents, for being so wonderful as we have been working to complete these tasks with our wonderful costume committee. There was no time in the schedule for a "costume day" so your child may be called to stay after school to get costume fittings or check off their costumes while other groups are rehearsing so please watch for those updates as they are added to the schedule.

DANCE REHEARSAL VIDEOS are under the MUSICAL tab. The drop down menu will say "WONKA DANCE VIDEOS." Videos will be uploaded as they become available. Every cast member should be rehearsing songs and dances a few minutes each day (5-15 min.) or several minutes (15-30 min.) 2-3 times a week. Thank you for helping them to be successful and confident in this production. 

• Our first Parent Workday is this Saturday Jan. 20th from 10am-3pm (clean up starting at 2pm and out the door by 3pm). If you are new to the musical, the Parent Workday is like an open house where you come and help for an hour or two or stay all day. We are going to be putting up the set so we need several people to help (we have the framework we just need to put  it together), make props, paint, etc. We are ready to get it completed so the cast can begin dancing on it and working with it since the sooner we have it ready to go, the sooner the cast will feel prepared and confident. This is a fun and busy day and we appreciate your time and talent so much! We kindly ask you not to bring young children because we don’t want them getting hurt with all the building that is happening. If your student would like to help and work alongside you we encourage that because it's nice for them to be a part of the process as a whole. Just a note about bringing your student, we have found in the past that when students aren’t actively engaged and working alongside their parents they get bored and wander the school and we can’t have that happen so please make sure they are with you at all times. 1. We have a few basic tools, an electric drill and saw but we always need more so if you have tools you can bring that would be great especially drills, saws, and nail guns. 
2. If you have leftover paint from home projects we could use a variety of colors especially bright colors and brown, black and white are always needed. If you could respond to this email with paint colors you have, so Ms. Dallimore doesn’t buy colors you can bring, that would be so helpful! We could also use a dark stain. 
3. 2x4s or plywood sheets
4. Black and white newspapers to make 7 birthday hats for Charlie’s birthday party scene and for Mr. Bucket to read would be wonderful. 
5. We need 2 large plexi-glass sheets to create a Plinko board for the Violet song. If anybody has some or knows the best place to purchase, please respond to this email with the information. We also need long square dowels to be cut to create it. Picture of what we want to create is in the email we sent out. Costume pieces needed for the following: 

COSTUMES needed for the following:
We need help with some of the costume pieces for the show. As mentioned in the parent meeting, our auditorium projector is on its last legs and we need to save for it ($25,000). So, if you can help with a few of the items it would really help us to save for the projector. The items  are probably already in your cast member’s closet. We will have more information about costumes as we work on the numbers, but we wanted to let you know what we need so far. If you don’t have the items, and don’t have the resources to purchase them, please email Ms. Dallimore directly ASAP so she can get items ordered. Thank you so very much for your support!!!

The Golden Age of Chocolate: We are providing the accessories, vests, bow-ties, hats, and skirts for the number so the following items below are needed. Girls and boys will need black shoes if they are in the ensemble numbers.
GIRLS in The Golden Age of Chocolate: Black leggings to their ankle, nice short sleeve black shirt, and black shoes:  black flats, ballet shoes, Mary Janes or a low boot. They need to be able to stay on their feet since they are dancing in them.
BOYS in The Golden Age of Chocolate: Black pants and a black dress shirt- they will be wearing a bowtie so it needs to have a collar. If they are in the choir or Featherstone’s band or orchestra, they probably already have this. 
Oompa Loompas:  White athletic shoes. We have their costumes and accessories. A ring of color on the shoe is fine (3rd image), but needs to be mostly white. The first image of gender-neutral high tops are currently available on Old Navy site for $10.97

EVERYONE in the cast will need a GARMENT BAG: 
Garment bag, hangers for shirt, and pants/shorts/skirt. We want the students to stay organized, look their best, and stay wrinkle free and the best way to do that is having each student have their own garment bag. Amazon links below or you can find them at the dollar store, Walmart, Target, etc. The dollar store doesn’t have the best quality and students have found they go through 2-3 of them so if your student is going to do more theatre, a higher quality garment bag is a wise investment.
