Wne need to add a second rehearsal this Thursday Feb. 1 from 3-4pm for the number, "Flying" which includes the following cast members: Rainbow Drops, Featured, Charlie and Grandpa Joe. Charlie and Grandpa Joe will stay until 5pm to rehearse the "Burping" song.
We have another exciting Parent Work Day this Saturday from 9-3pm. We had a great turn out a couple of weeks ago and we are excited to get projects completed so our cast can work with the set. Click on the link or just come any time during our 6 hour window to help and thank you for all you are doing to make this show amazing!!! www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0844A8AC2FABF58-47105312-willy#/ Please park in the back of the school and come in the door near the garage. We need to work on the chocolate river, decorate the kitchen set, paint the grass and flowers on our green bridge and a few other projects so, if you are an artist or have an artistic flair we could really use your help with this project. We are meeting tomorrow night as a set construction team at 5pm and will finalize details and send out another email later this week with more information. Costumes are an integral part of the show and help the students to feel special and complete a cohesive show and we appreciate you, as parents, for being so wonderful as we have been working to complete these tasks with our wonderful costume committee. There was no time in the schedule for a "costume day" so your child may be called to stay after school to get costume fittings or check off their costumes while other groups are rehearsing so please watch for those updates as they are added to the schedule. We are so close to having all the positions filled on SignUp Genius- yay!! Here's the link if you haven't had a chance to sign up yet: www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0844A8AC2FABF58-47105312-willy Hello Parents,
A BIG THANK YOU to all the students and parents that came out to build and paint the set yesterday! It was an incredible day and we got so much accomplished and we can't thank you enough!!! Wasatch has the best parent volunteers! If you want to be part of the fun don't fret, our next Parent Workday to complete the set will be Feb. 3 from 9-3pm. Our parent work nights are Tuesdays from 5-8pm and will resume Jan. 30th. This is a great night to come in and talk to Ms. Dallimore about committee questions you have or look at the space for decorating if you are on the concession or lobby decor committee. If you have any pictures of the building and painting yesterday, please email them to Ms. Dallimore so they can be included in the cast memory book. There was so much happening that she forgot to take pictures and she's very sad about it. Thank you again for your time and talents! [email protected] - If your student is in the Luminous Lollies group, the girls need to stay after rehearsal tomorrow or Tuesday for about 15 minutes to try on their costume. If they can wear or bring a t-shirt to put on and slip their costume over, it will make things go quicker- thank you! - Wasatch On Display is Wednesday night and the cast has been asked to perform. So, if your student is in The Golden Age of Chocolate they will need to be in the hallway by the stage door at 6:30 to perform at 6:45 and another performance will be at 7:15pm.This number was chosen because it has been choreographed and rehearsed. Students can wear their regular clothes. Wasatch On Display is an information and showcase night where parents and students that are considering attending Wasatch next year can come and ask questions about our school and see the wonderful classes and after-school activities Wasatch has to offer so, it's a very important night and we are honored the students have been asked to perform! We still have some positions that need to be filled on SignUp Genius so if you haven't had a chance to sign up here's the link: www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0844A8AC2FABF58-47105312-willy - We still need an Usher Chair and a second Ticket Chair. Both of these positions are great to work on from home. The Usher Chair needs to make sure the ushers feel comfortable taking tickets and knowing how to help people find their seats. The Ticket Chair will get trained by Al Kinghorn who has been doing tickets for the last several years and he will train you. This is a great job for a parent or parents who know their student is planning on being in the musical at least one more year or have more students who will be attending Wasatch in the future. Please sign up and then contact Ms. Dallimore to let her know and get you Al's contact information. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0844A8AC2FABF58-47105312-willy Thank you again for all your time and talents!!! :) Hello Parents,
An email was sent out with this information Jan. 14th so, if you're not getting the emails please email: [email protected] so we can put you on the email list. Emails are not seen by other parents. Parents emails are shared with committees so you can communicate with one another. This post includes Parent Work Day information and Costumes info. Please read until the end- thank you! We appreciate your help and look forward to seeing you Saturday. An update email will be sent Friday. Reply with any questions to the musical email. Thank you for your willingness to make this show great! DANCE REHEARSAL VIDEOS are under the MUSICAL tab. The drop down menu will say "WONKA DANCE VIDEOS." Videos will be uploaded as they become available. Every cast member should be rehearsing songs and dances a few minutes each day (5-15 min.) or several minutes (15-30 min.) 2-3 times a week. Thank you for helping them to be successful and confident in this production.
If you have any of the supplies below you can bring Saturday, we would really appreciate it. You can also list what you can bring when you sign up on SignUp Genius or email the musical- [email protected] Thank you! :)
We need help with some of the costume pieces for the show. As mentioned in the parent meeting, our auditorium projector is on its last legs and we need to save for it ($25,000). So, if you can help with a few of the items it would really help us to save for the projector. The items are probably already in your cast member’s closet. We will have more information about costumes as we work on the numbers, but we wanted to let you know what we need so far. If you don’t have the items, and don’t have the resources to purchase them, please email Ms. Dallimore directly ASAP so she can get items ordered. Thank you so very much for your support!!! Pictures of the shoes are included in the email. The Golden Age of Chocolate: We are providing the accessories, vests, bow-ties, hats, and skirts for the number so the following items below are needed. Girls and boys will need black shoes if they are in the ensemble numbers. GIRLS in The Golden Age of Chocolate: Black leggings to their ankle, nice short sleeve black shirt, and black shoes: black flats, ballet shoes, Mary Janes or a low boot. They need to be able to stay on their feet since they are dancing in them. BOYS in The Golden Age of Chocolate: Black pants and a black dress shirt- they will be wearing a bowtie so it needs to have a collar. If they are in the choir or Featherstone’s band or orchestra, they probably already have this. Oompa Loompas: White athletic shoes. We have their costumes and accessories. A ring of color on the shoe is fine (3rd image), but needs to be mostly white. The first image of gender-neutral high tops are currently available on Old Navy site for $10.97 https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=8549320020012&vid=1&tid=onpl000079&kwid=1&ap=7&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAqY6tBhAtEiwAHeRopUMreGeEVvEL1fIrfBprcVWrLMpxEAJe_Wi-mM9jS13RlvXJih-JJxoC0woQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content You can also find some on Amazon, Target and Walmart between $11-40 EVERYONE in the cast will need a GARMENT BAG: Garment bag, hangers for shirt, and pants/shorts/skirt. We want the students to stay organized, look their best, and stay wrinkle free and the best way to do that is having each student have their own garment bag. Amazon links below or you can find them at the dollar store, Walmart, Target, etc. The dollar store doesn’t have the best quality and students have found they go through 2-3 of them so if your student is going to do more theatre, a higher quality garment bag is a wise investment. We have about 12 at school on a first come first email basis. Links below for Amazon: https://a.co/d/5GzViA6 https://a.co/d/4kTWc5q https://a.co/d/4kzkcPG Parents,
Thank you for signing up under the general committee form after the parent meeting. You can now sign up for the specific parent volunteer positions on the link below and we appreciate your willingness and help! If you haven't seen the parent meeting, please go to the parent tab and watch it so you can sign the form so we can get your email. We are still missing a few parent emails and we'll start sending emails starting next Sunday. Thank you again for volunteering!!! www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0844A8AC2FABF58-47105312-willy Students and Parents,
We have an ALL CAST meeting Monday Dec. 18th from 3:00-3:15. Trying on costumes will be rescheduled so only the cast who are in Scene 14 will stay for rehearsal after the meeting until 4:00. Please make sure you are checking the rehearsal schedule for updates or changes to the schedule. Look for the Rehearsal Schedule under the "Musical" tab. Students have asked what "Opt." means in front of a song/dance number and it stands for "optional" song/dance number that cast members can choose whether to be in or not. If you click on the blue print under the date the rehearsal schedule will expand and you can see who needs to be at rehearsal and for how long. We will show the students how this works and the musical tabs on the website along with other valuable information so please make sure students are there for the cast meeting. Parents: We appreciate and rely on our parent volunteers to make the musical phenomenal so, as in years past, the Sign-Up Genius links with specific volunteer assignments and committee chairs will be available after winter break. Reminder that if your child has a speaking role you will need to chair or co-chair a committee as explained in the student-parent contract we collected at auditions. For now, please watch the video and/or Google Slides presentation under the "Musical" tab if you missed the parent meeting and you will see a link to sign up for a committee. We need all parents to sign up so we can get your email for correspondence and to officially accept your child as a member of the Willy Wonka JR Cast. We have about 50 parents who need to sign up so please do that as soon as you can so we can get your email to send you updates about the musical. Emails will start after the break. Thank you for your time and support and for signing up and have a great winter break!!! Happy holidays from the Wasatch Musical Team :) Parents,
Thank you for your time and for volunteering to make this a great show! We can't do this show and make it as great as it has been over the past 20 years without the incredible help of our parent volunteers. We have new information for how we are collecting emails and taking attendance so, even if your child has been in the show before, we need you to watch the video. We apologize the Zoom meeting didn't work as we had planned for the parent meeting so Ms. Dallimore created a video tutorial for you to watch AND click on the Google Slides link to fill out the Google Form to sign up for a committee, emails, and officially accept your child into the musical cast. We need ALL parents to fill out this form whether they are a speaking role or ensemble. Your student will not be able to attend rehearsal until it is filled out and will be considered one of their 3 unexcused absences so please complete this by Wed. Dec. 18th. All of this information is explained in the video and on the Google Slides presentation. Thank you for your time and we look forward to an incredible show! You all gave brilliant performances. We can't even begin to express the sheer volume of talent we have seen these last two days. It's been really difficult to even narrow it down for this callbacks list. All who audition will be in the musical, so please be sure you look at the cast list on Friday.
Reminder: everyone MUST attend dance auditions tomorrow (Wednesday) 3-6pm. Please look at the ENTIRE list. Some of you have been called back for more than one role. Callback materials have now been updated online. We will be placing paper copies by Ms. Dallimore's room tomorrow after school. Please note that Willy Wonka, Mike Teavee, and Parents have received new material for callbacks. All other characters will be using the same songs and scenes from auditions. We are not expecting scenes and songs to be memorized for callbacks. Just become familiar with it as best as you can. Callbacks are on Thursday right after school. We will let students go as soon as they are done. We will do our best to finish by 6pm, but please know that it may go longer for certain characters. Auditions for speaking roles will be November 27th and 28th from 3-5pm. We have a signup sheet by Ms. Dallimore's room (110) where you will sign up for a time slot. Choose 1 character to audition with (your first choice). Mandatory dance auditions will be November 29th from 3-6pm and are for everyone who wants to be in the musical (speaking roles & ensemble). Those who want to be in the ensemble will sing in groups at the Dance Auditions. Everybody auditioning including those auditioning for non-singing roles will sing and dance at auditions. Callbacks will be November 30th from 3-6pm. Remember, not all roles will be called back for. Audition Materials We have prepared audition scenes and a song for you to work on these next 2 months. Please be memorized as best as you can. The MP3 of the song can be found in the character folders below. On the MP3, we have provided the guide vocals to help you learn the song and then immediately following is the same music without the guide vocals. At the audition we will only play the music without the guide vocals so be sure you are practicing with the MP3. Choose a character that is your first choice and prepare the audition materials for that character. If you are struggling with any of the audition materials for a character, try out a different one. Find the one that fits you the best.
